Purpose

The purpose of the Accounting Committee is to provide financial oversight for the organization. This would be accomplished through budgeting, financial reporting, developing internal controls and conformity to IRS regulations.

In order for CSA to continue to grow, technically sound financials are needed to help secure grants. Budgeting and development of internal controls help to keep an organization around in the long term. Conformity to IRS regulations is needed for CSA to keep its tax exempt status.

Committee Membership

Additional members will be very beneficial to the growth and review of the accounting committee. Committee members will be given a certain area to work on. These areas consist of budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and IRS regulation. More areas will be developed as needed.

Need

The Accounting Committee is looking for support from those with an accounting background, no matter what experience level. A connection to Columbus Songwriters Association as a member, or out of pure interest in music, will be required to ensure members put forth care and effort into involvement.
